I am Brian Thomas, a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and Operations Assistant at Simsbury Community TV. While at CSB I was trained on studio cameras along with field cameras, the video switcher, teleprompter, studio lighting, audio board, character generator, recording deck, and general studio maintenance. I use both Avid and Final Cut Pro for editing video and Adobe Audition for editing sound. At SCTV, I am constantly sharpening my skills in the directing, shooting, and editing of video for programming aired on our TV channels and posted on our website, SimsburyTV.org. I have done an internship with the Travel Channel for their "Bert the Conqueror" series and can be seen in the "Massachusetts" episode being interviewed by Bert himself. This past summer I worked part time for the New Britain Rock Cats as a Camera Operator for their home games that was broadcast around the concourse there. I am constantly trying to expand my portfolio and love meeting new people and seeing new places in the process. I am not afraid to try new things and will gladly work out of my comfort zone to learn new skills in the media industry.
